Little Red Door Cancer Agency Hosts 16th Annual Face of Hope Breakfast – A Record Breaking $452,153 Raised to Support Hoosiers Facing Cancer
INDIANAPOLIS – On Thursday, November 16th, Little Red Door Cancer Agency hosted its 16th annual Face of Hope Breakfast at the Expo Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Starting at 7:30 a.m., this event featured impactful stories from Little Red Door clients, staff, and Board members. The Face of Hope Breakfast is Little Red Door’s largest fundraising event of the year which supports critical client services for cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers.
“Little Red Door is an independent nonprofit, separate from any national entities,” stated Mandy Pietrykowski, Little Red Door’s Director and CEO. This year, more than a thousand people participated and raised to date $452,153 for services for medically underserved Hoosiers along the cancer continuum, including transportation to and from cancer treatment, nutritional supplements and meals, and wellness programming.
“Because of the generosity of our Table Captains and donors, our clients experiencing one of the most difficult times in their lives are ensured another year of critical cancer support services,” Pietrykowski continued. “Little Red Door can only do what we do because of the support we receive at the Face of Hope Breakfast.”
Little Red Door Board member and cancer treatment specialist at IU Health, Omar Ishaq, M.D., shared his firsthand experience as a medical professional at the Breakfast, highlighting the results that Little Red Door achieves through its transportation assistance program. “Rides to and from treatment are critical. Little Red Door is truly saving lives with this program,” stated Ishaq.
Little Red Door’s Chief Advancement Officer, Brenda Ewigleben, C.F.R.E., reflects on the success of Face of Hope. “We are humbled. We are grateful. And, we continue to be inspired by our volunteers, Board of Directors, Table Captains, and this community, daily,” stated Ewigleben.
