Why are we called “Little Red Door?”
The Agency was originally located in a World War II barrack that had been refurbished complete with a red door. Since the word “cancer” carried such a social stigma during the agency’s founding, the “Little Red Door” became more commonly used than the official name.
Are there other Little Red Doors?
Little Red Door Cancer Agency is a unique, local nonprofit with no national affiliation. We are here to serve Hoosiers facing cancer. We have offices based in Indianapolis and Muncie, Indiana. If you are in need of cancer-related services and live outside of central or east-central Indiana, you are still welcome to call us and we will do our best to direct you to similar organizations in your area.
What counties do we serve?
Little Red Door serves adults in: Blackford, Boone, Delaware, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Jay, Johnson, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Shelby, and Randolph. Little Red Door serves youth in all 92 counties in Indiana.

Little Red Door-Indianapolis is located at 1801 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
Little Red Door-Muncie is located in Unit 9 at 413 S. Tillotson Ave., Muncie, Indiana, 47304.

Can I donate items for cancer patients?
Our needs often change at Little Red Door. Please call our office at (317) 925-5595 for an updated list of items to donate. Thank you!
Do you offer presentations or attend events?
Yes, education is an important part of reducing the cancer burden. Little Red Door staff and volunteers conduct presentations about our services as well as cancer prevention and also participate in local events and health fairs.

What kind of services do we offer?
Little Red Door provides a variety of services for those dealing with cancer, including transportation to treatment, nutritional supplements, medical supplies, complementary therapies, client navigation, and a camp for children with cancer. Visit Our Services page for more information.
Do we pay for medication or medical bills?
Little Red Door is not able to pay for medications or medical bills, however our Client Services Representatives work closely with our clients to help connect them to appropriate community resources as well as affordable health insurance programs.
Do we pay utility bills or housing assistance?
Little Red Door does not directly pay utility bills or offer housing assistance, however our Client Services Representatives work closely with cancer patients to understand their needs and connect them to appropriate community resources.
Do we offer transportation?
Yes. Little Red Door provides transportation services for cancer patients in active treatment. Visit our transportation page to learn more about transportation and call us at (317) 925-5595 for transportation eligibility.
How do I qualify for services?
Please call Little Red Door at 317-925-5595. A Client Services Representative will answer the phone to complete an intake for a new client. They will work to assess what needs we can assist with and inform new clients what we offer. On-going support and resources will be provided, as needed.
Can I get help even if I don’t speak English?
Yes! At Little Red Door, we understand that navigating cancer is tough enough already without having to find resources in a secondary language. Using the LanguageLine and other resources, we are able to speak with our clients over the phone using whatever primary language they are most comfortable with. Little Red Door currently serves clients in 19 different languages with the capacity to serve additional languages and dialects.
