Upcoming Camp Little Red Door and Beyond the Woods Programming

Meet the Camp LRD Team

Jenny Belsky, DO, MS
Camp Little Red Door Medical Director

I’m Dr. Jennifer Belsky, and I’m an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and lead of the Pediatric Lymphoma Team at Riley Hospital for Children. I received my medical degree from Ohio University, completed residency and fellowship at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and obtained a Master of Science from Wright State University. My research is currently focused on supportive care clinical trials, with particular attention to chemotherapy-induced side effects.

Camp Little Red Door is a place where you aren’t “the kid with cancer”… you are just another kid! My favorite camp memory is paint war day, where we dress up in the silliest costume we can find, then declare war with whipped cream filled water balloons! I don’t think an inch of me wasn’t covered in paint, but the kids had such a blast, and we didn’t stop laughing for hours into the night, recapping the day.

Beth Armstrong
Camp Little Red Door Nurse

I'm Beth Armstrong, and I am a Pediatric Neuro Oncology Navigator. I have a bachelor's degree in nursing from Ohio State University and am oncology certified. I've worked in nursing since 2006 and have spent the majority of my nursing career working with both youth and adult clients. I've done volunteer work in Kenya with their pediatric neurosurgery/oncology team pre-pandemic, currently manage a full team for patient care, and have years of additional experience in the field. My focus has been on pediatric brain tumors since 2017. I found Little Red Door to be an amazing opportunity for kids in or past their cancer journey. I decided I wanted to help in any capacity I can. That's how I landed as a full-time nurse for Camp LRD!

Camp Little Red Door is such an amazing experience.  I love seeing these kids be kids while giving them the opportunities to play and interact with other children who know what they have been through. I also love that Camp Little Red Door includes siblings and friends who have their own journeys and stories. I love seeing relationships being built that last a lifetime, and am so grateful to provide support to allow so many children come, regardless of where they are at in their story!

Camp Little Red Door is Gold Ribbon Accredited with the Children’s Oncology Camping Association.

Camp Little Red Door has been supported, in part, by Care Camps.
