Little Red Door Announces New Director and Chief Executive Officer

INDIANAPOLIS-The Little Red Door Cancer Agency Board of Directors announced that Mandy Pietrykowski will become Little Red Door’s next Director and Chief Executive Officer in June of 2023. Pietrykowski has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer with the intent and expectation that she will assume the role of Director and CEO upon Little Red Door’s current Director and CEO, Fred Duncan’s, retirement on June 2nd, 2023.

Pietrykowski came to Little Red Door in 2019 from Riley Children’s Foundation where she served as the Director of Campaign and Major Gifts. She joined the Little Red Door team as the Chief Advancement Officer where she has cultivated meaningful relationships to help further Little Red Door’s mission of making the most of life and the least of cancer.

The announcement of Pietrykowski’s promotion came after Duncan announced his retirement from Little Red Door, where he has served Central and East Central Indiana’s cancer community for 14 years. “Mandy has been an exceptional colleague the last four years,” Duncan stated. “I have full confidence in her and I am excited to see where she leads Little Red Door in the future.”

Pietrykowski will serve as the Chief Operating Officer until June 3rd, 2023 when she assumes the role of Director and CEO. “I am excited to continue to build upon the great work of Fred Duncan’s and our Board of Directors’, and grateful that Fred and I have been given this time to work more closely together as Little Red Door begins this transition,” Pietrykowski said.

The Little Red Door Board of Directors’ Chair, Whitney Melton, expressed that Pietrykowski has excelled in her role as Chief Advancement Officer and the Board is excited for Little Red Door’s next chapter. “The Board feels very fortunate to have this opportunity to move Little Red Door and its work to make the most of life and the least of cancer forward into the future,” Melton stated.

Pietrykowski joined Little Red Door with the tenacity and courage to look at a problem head-on and not flinch, but to instead step boldly forward and answer the call. As a fierce advocate for the medically underserved, Pietrykowski has the strong ability to bring people alongside her to help provide improved access to healthcare, resources, and community. Pietrykowski said, “It is exciting to partner with our incredible Board, staff, hospital partners, and the clients and caregivers we serve to ask, and ask again, ‘What does making the most of life and the least of cancer look like today, tomorrow, and how can we best live our mission?’”

In the next eight months, Pietrykowski will work closely with Duncan and the Board of Directors to ensure the most effective and efficient transition as possible. “Little Red Door Cancer Agency has been serving the medically underserved cancer community of Central Indiana for over 76 years,” Pietrykowski said. “It is an honor to have been selected and trusted to help lead and escort Little Red Door into the next 76 years.”
