Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust Awards Grant Funding for Little Red Door Cancer Agency’s Transportation Program

INDIANAPOLIS, IN., December 28, 2009…Cancer patients depend on reliable transportation to and from doctor’s appointments while undergoing treatment. Little Red Door Cancer Agency’s Transportation Program provides this service to many of its clients; and thanks to the generous support of the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust, with a grant totaling $26,229, the agency will be able to continue to offer this service to its clients.

Lack of transportation can be one of the most significant reasons patients are not able to receive potentially life-saving treatments. Lack of nearby family, friends or reliable transportation often intercedes in the treatment process. Little Red Door Cancer Agency provides ambulatory and non-ambulatory transportation services to an average of 40 clients each month. Without this service, many would not receive the proper care necessary to combat their cancer diagnosis.

Little Red Door Cancer Agency is honored to receive this award from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust which seeks to help people in need, especially women, children and families and to enrich community life in the metropolitan areas of Indianapolis and Phoenix.
